BENGALURU: On Tuesday, the chief minister of HD Kumaraswamy was seen standing firmly by his son Nikhil, who is all set to begin his political career by contesting from Mandya Lok Sabha constituency, Kumaraswamy had said that, attempts to paint his son an "outsider" will not cut ice with voters, especially in rural areas of the Vokkaliga Dominant constituency.
After speaking to his father HD Deve Gowda, the CM had said that, "The people of Mandya know my family for years, and we enjoy ties with them which are never ever misused. Mandya people — and not those on social media — will decide the winner in the elections. A decision has been taken (of asking Nikhil to contest from Mandya segment) and we will go before the people."
