Meet Karnataka Bypolls 2019 Richest Candidate In The Fray

Karnataka is gearing up for by-polls which is scheduled to take place on December 5. Yesterday was the last date to file nominations for candidates contesting the polls. After several parties made their pick of candidates, several aspiring candidates who were given tickets by their respective parties filed their nominations along with declaring the assets.

As per records submitted to the election authorities, it is learned that a lot is at stake in Hoskote where several candidates are crorepatis. BJP has fielded disqualified Congress MLA MTB Nagraj who in his election affidavit has declared that his assets are over Rs 1,200 crores. Interestingly, it goes on to show that his assets grew by Rs 180 crores in the last year and a half. The same candidate during the 2018 elections had declared that his asset was Rs 1015 crores. He is now considered the richest politician. His movable assets are worth Rs 417.11 crore while his wife has movable property worth Rs 167.34 crores.

Among the high-end cars owned by Nagaraj include Prado, Land Rover, Benz, Bolero, Fortuner and an i10 which are worth over 2.54 crore. His wife Shanthakumari owns a Porsche worth Rs 1.72 crores.
