Kumaraswamy also accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not allowing funds to the state government’s welfare schemes like Anna Bhagya.

Chief minister HD Kumaraswamy prophesied 'dangerous days' into the future for Bengaluru if BJP candidates are elected from Bengaluru constituencies, on Tuesday. "We must be wary of BJP candidates from Bengaluru,' Kumaraswamy said. "If they are elected, there will be no solution to Bengaluru's woes. The city will only burn."

While campaigning for Congress candidate BK Hariprasad in Vijayanagar, he made this statement. Kumaraswamy mentioned about the three BJP MPs elected from Bengaluru city, Central, North and South, said the trio had failed to deliver. He also accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not allowing funds to the state government's welfare schemes like Anna Bhagya.

Congress legislature party leader and former chief minister Siddaramaiah joined Kumaraswamy in attacking Modi. "Modi says the Congress did not do anything in its 70-year tenure. But the fact is none of our leaders went to jail, while Yeddyurappa was jailed when he was the chief minister," Siddaramaiah.

Siddaramaiah previously heaped praises on his at odds mentor and former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, as the pair campaigned for Krishna Byregowda, Congress candidate from Bengaluru North. The two have come together to campaign for Byregowda for the second time. "Deve Gowda has memorable achievements during his 11-month stint as Prime Minister. Modi has not done anything worth remembering. He is the biggest liar independent India has ever seen," said Siddaramaiah.

In the meantime, after a two-day break on account of Ugadi festival, the BJP candidate from Bengaluru North Union minister, DV Sadananda Gowda, continued his campaign. "I seek votes for Modi since I am proud of his achievement in these five years. Siddaramaiah says I should wear a veil to hide my face, but it is Congress leaders who veiled their leader and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh," said Sadananda.
