The Supreme Court has allowed CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury to visit Srinagar to check on his party colleague Mohammed Yousuf Tarigami. Tarigami was detained in Jammu and Kashmir after the Centre scrapped Article 370.

The Supreme Court placed a condition that the permission is only to meet his party colleague Tarigami and not for any other political reason.

He has been asked not to raise any issue other than the health and safety of Tarigami. He is required to submit a report on his return to Delhi.
