Pinnamaneni Award to Odisha’s social worker
Noted social worker from Odisha Dr Achyuta Samanta has been selected for the prestigious Dr Pinnamaneni and Smt Sitadevi Foundation award. The award would be presented in the city on December 16, said the foundation managing trustee, Dr C Nageswara Rao.

Speaking to media persons here on Thursday, Dr Nageswara Rao said that Dr Achyuta Samanta had been providing free and quality education to over 25,000 tribal children in Odisha. Living in a rented room till date, Dr Achyuta had overcome poverty from his childhood and completed his M Sc in chemistry and Ph D in social sciences.

The foundation would honour Dr Achyuta with Rs 2 lakh cash prize and a citation. Dr Achyuta would speak on “service with human touch” after receiving the award. The foundation would also honour Rural Development Trust of Ananthapur and Udyana Raitula Sahakara Sangham from Chittoor district for their meritorious service to the society. The foundation trustee Dr C Sudha was also present at the news conference.
