Significance of Guru highlighted
The ‘Guru Puja Mahotsavam’ celebrations were held at SRSV College of Education in the city on Tuesday under the aegis of Sri Kanyaka Parameswari Kala Vedika. Eminent scholar Mallapragada Srimannarayana Murthy was felicitated on the occasion of Ashada Purnima.

Kala Vedika convener Singamsetti Peda Brahmam, co-convener Madugula Vara Prasad and programme coordinator Gunda Gangadhar performed ‘Pada Puja’ and ‘Guru Vandanam’ to Srimannarayana Murthy in a traditional manner. Delivering a discourse on the occasion, Srimannarayana Murthy highlighted the significance of Guru in Indian culture who is placed on the highest pedestal.
