Vijayawada Railway Division Engineering section badminton players Baba Valli and Paramesh won the DRM’s Cup Inter-Departmental Badminton tournament doubles championship that concluded at Satyanarayana Puram Indoor Badminton stadium in the city on Friday.
Vijayawada Railway Division Engineering section badminton players Baba Valli and Paramesh won the DRM’s Cup Inter-Departmental Badminton tournament doubles championship that concluded at Satyanarayana Puram Indoor Badminton stadium in the city on Friday. Commercial section player BLV Pavan bagged the singles championship.
Satyanarayana Puram Railway Institute has conducted DRM’s Cup Inter-Departmental Badminton tournament from October 4 to 7 at Indoor stadium. Final matchs was conducted on Thursday midnight. After the finals, guests distributed prizes to the winners and runners.
In the doubles finals Engineering section players Baba Valli and Paramesh beat Commercial wing players BLV Pavan and Prasad by 19-21, 21-17, 21-14. Commercial players stood in the second position. In the Hard-line match, G Srinivasa Rao and G Srinivasulu (Commercial) beat Dhanunjaya Rao and K Bhanu Prasad (Engineering) by 21-16, 21-16.
In singles event Commercial section shuttler BLV Pavan beat engineering section player Paramesh by 21-18, 21-19 and secured the first place. In the Hard-line match Vijaya Kumar (RPF) beat BLVSKL Srinivasa Rao (Commercial) by 17-21, 21-14, 21-19, Vijaya Kumar stood in the third position.
In Veteran doubles V Someswara Rao and S Rushikesava (Engineering) beat P Srinivasa Rao and GAKPLVP Srinivasa Rao (Commercial) by 21-17, 21-16. Both Engineering and Commercial sections bagged joint Overall Championship in the DRM’s Cup Inter-Departmental tourney.
Additional Railway Manager (ADRM) K Venugopala Rao attended the programme as the chief guest for the finals and witnessed the matches. Divisional Sports Officer J Pradeep Kumar, Satyanarayana Puram Railway Institute chairman P Srinivasa Rao and others participated in the concluded function.
