City Police Commissioner D Gautam Sawang has inaugurated World Sight Day awareness rally in the city on Thursday.

City Police Commissioner D Gautam Sawang has inaugurated World Sight Day awareness rally in the city on Thursday. About hundred students participated in the rally and raised slogans on the importance of Eyes. Sandhya Eye hospital organised the programme to create awareness on Eyes.

Speaking on the occasion CP Sawang said that 50 percent of the world’s population are suffering from eye problems due to lack of awareness. CP said the Sight problem is increasing among the children and suggested for the eye doctors to create awareness to the people on eye sight problems and blindness.

CP appealed to the doctors’ to conduct the special camps especially for school children. He praised the services of Sandhya Eye hospital doctors for conducting the Eye camps in rural areas.

Sandhya Eye hospital Managing Director M Bhargav Ram said that they conduct awareness camps on Eyes every year. The hospital management is conducting camps at selected 100 schools in the rural areas, he added.
