As a part of the 25th annual celebrations of Ramakrishna Nritya Kalakshetram, dance legend, Central Sangeet Nataka Akademy awardee Abhinava Satyabhama, Kala Krishna was honoured on Monday evening at Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College auditorium.

Sarada Ramakrishna, disciple of Guru Nataraja Ramakrishna, the founder and Principal of Ramakrishna Kalakshetram works sincerely to uplift the Andhra Natyam dance form in the city. Andhra Natyam is a traditional dance form and is promoted by Nataraja Ramakrishna. The programme commenced with the Kumbha Harathi and was followed by ‘Pushpanjali’, ‘Vinayaka Koutam’, ‘Astadikpalakaradhana’, ‘Siva Kivaram’, ‘Sabda Pallavi’, ‘Tripurasura Samharam’, and Daruvu of ‘Navajanardhana Parijatam’.

The performance of the artistes Sri Sruthi, P Srujani, PV Gowthami, SV Bhanu, Ch Bhavyacharita, N Sri Nitya, K Joshita, G Iswarya, K Harika, Ch Bhavana Indu, A Lahari and K Mridula were appreciated by the audience. A Ruthvika, B Devarshini, Ch Saijasrita, Divyasri, Gnapika and Adarsh also participated in the dance items.

Nattuvangam of Sarada Ramakrishna gave a good dance performance and vocal support was rendered by Kumara Suryanarayana. The colourful dance programme was Instrumentally supported by Palaparthi Anjaneyaulu on Violin, K Sasidhar on Veena, PV Prasad on mridangam and Vasu on flute. Somasekhar’s Makeup brought richness to the programme.

The organisers felicitated Kala Krishna on this event. On this occasion, MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao said that Kala Krishna became popular through his performance as Satyabhama. He also added that the Andhra Pradesh Government is keen on promoting culture and language.

Further he added that the felicitation is fit to Kala Krishna for his services to Andhra Natya. Emani Sivanagireddy presided over the meeting. Kaku Mallikharjuna yadav, Pilla Prasad and others were also present. Seeram Subrahmanyam conducted the programme.
