Rajamahendravaram: Backward Classes Joint Action Committee State President Margani Nageswara Rao, on Sunday said that the ballot system was the right system for all the elections because India still had more number of illiterates.

He participated as chief guest at a meeting on ‘Election Procedure in India’ at the Medical Association Hall, organised by the Mool Nivasi Sangh on the occasion of World Human Rights Day.

Speaking on the occasion, Nageswara Rao said that India was one of the largest democratic countries and ballot system was a right system. He demanded that the Election Commission conduct elections in ballot system method instead of using EVMs.

Retired Deputy Collector Prabhakara Chowdary explained about ballot and EVM systems.
Noted advocate Marri Babji and famous analyst K Tilak Kumar spoke on the importance of the ballot system. They informed that even the developed countries were not using EVM systems in their elections.

Mool Nivasi Sangh Central Committee member Nayanala Krishna Rao, Boddu Bullabbayi, M Arjuna Rao, Anasuri Adinarayana, G Srinivas and others participated in the meeting.
