CRR carnival begins
Kommareddy Rambabu, president, Sir CR Reddy Educational Institutions said that the Sir CR Reddy Educational Institutions had decided to produce the best sportspersons from its colleges to represent the institutions at the state and national level sports competitions, on Wednesday. For this cause, they were conducting the sports and games meet CRR FEST-2017.
Eluru: Kommareddy Rambabu, president, Sir CR Reddy Educational Institutions said that the Sir CR Reddy Educational Institutions had decided to produce the best sportspersons from its colleges to represent the institutions at the state and national level sports competitions, on Wednesday. For this cause, they were conducting the sports and games meet CRR FEST-2017.
The CRR FEST-2017 sports and games meet kicked off at Sir C R Reddy Autonomous College grounds. Kommareddy hoisted the national flag and the college flag. He released pigeons to mark the inauguration.
The educational Institutions secretary, NVK Durga Rao said that students from nine colleges and schools under the institution had been participating in the meet.
He said that about 965 sportspersons from 135 teams had been participating in eight events. Besides the sports meet, cultural competitions would also be held in 48 events, he said.
Sir CRR Autonomous College Correspondent US Ram Prasad said that after 72 years of the establishment of the institutions, it was decided to conduct the sports and cultural meet. He stated that several sportspersons had won gold medals in national competitions from the college.
Earlier, the Educational Institutions president Kommareddy Rambabu received the guard of honour from the sportspersons.Later, Cricket, Shuttle Badminton, Table tennis, Volleyball, Basketball, Kho-kho, Kabaddi competitions started.
