Cops organise special drive against drunk driving

The Bhimavaram traffic police conducted a special drive to check drunken driving in the town on the late night of Tuesday. The traffic personnel led by SI K Narendra started the drive on various roads in the town.

The police concentrated mainly on the Budhavaram market road and checked 150 vehicle drivers during the drive.
Traffic SI Narendra said that the Town CI Desimsetty Venkateswara Rao had directed them to conduct the drive in the town. He said during the tests, eight positive cases have been booked and cases registered against those drivers.
The Traffic SI said that the drive would be held regularly and suggested for the vehicle drivers not to drive vehicles after consuming alcohol.
