Guntur: Cardiologist P Ramesh Babu said that there is a need of experts in the field of pharmacy to render better services to the patients.

He addressed a seminar held on ‘Expert Pharmacists- Opportunities for Health Safety’ at Vignan Pharmacy College in Guntur district on Thursday.

Speaking on this occasion, he felt that there was a need to engage pharmacists in the hospitals to render better medical services.

He said that demand for pharmacists was increasing in the country. The hospitals were facing a lot of problems for not engaging the pharmacists and cases were failing due to mistakes of the doctors.

He said that some doctors were unable to give correct medicines in emergency cases, due to lack of pharmacists.

He said that he has appointed over 30 pharmacists in his hospitals to render better medical services to the patients. He stressed on need to engage pharmacists in all the hospitals.

He said that heart attack patients and paralysis patients were shifted to the hospitals in the golden hours and their life would be saved. He emphasised on the need for pharmacists to increase their skill.

Punjab Central University vice-chancellor Dr Sambasiva Rao said that pharmacists would play a key role in the medical field and urged them to create awareness among the patients on how to use medicines.Vignan Educational Institutions chairman Lavu Rattaiah was also present.
