Ongole: The children and youth in the state should utilise opportunities in science and technology available in the state and become scientists in future, wished the Minister for Forests, Environment, Science and Technology Siddha Raghavarao.

He inaugurated the 45th district-level Jawaharlal Nehru Science, Mathematics and Environment Exhibition for Children- 2017 at Auxilium School in Ongole on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that the state government was giving top priority to the science and technology and introduced fiber grid using it.

He said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was making the state as a knowledge hub and asked the students to utilise the local facilities in improvising their skills. He said that Andhra Pradesh had become a role model in the country with the use of good governance, Kaizala app and Command Control Room.

He said that the government was establishing science and technology centers by spending Rs 550 crore at Tirupati, Rs 25 crore at Rajahmundry and Rs 36 crore at Visakhapatnam.
The minister announced that about 1,200 students from 250 schools participated in the exhibition and displayed 402 projects in the programme. He encouraged them to innovate new technologies in future.
