Prakasam fencers selected for national championship
The Andhra Pradesh Fencing Association announced that four fencers from the Prakasam district have been selected for participating in the 25th National Junior Fencing Championship scheduled at Bangalore.
Ongole: The Andhra Pradesh Fencing Association announced that four fencers from the Prakasam district have been selected for participating in the 25th National Junior Fencing Championship scheduled at Bangalore.
The AP Fencing Association president and Prakasam district Fencing Association secretary, V Nageswara Rao said that K Himasri and P Rohit Kumar Reddy are selected in the Épée category, while G Kartikeya and TV Sai Karthik are selected under the Foil category for the 25th National Junior Championship.
He said that the fencers would participate in the championship to be held at the Indoor Stadium in Koramangala, Bangalore from January 9 to 12. He said that these fencers’ selection was done based on their performance at the 3rd state level fencing championship held at Kakinada recently.
The Prakasam District Sports Development Officer, RK Yatiraj, district Fencing Association president Balisetty Nageswara Rao and Prakasam district Olympic Association Ad Hoc committee convener Kurra Bhaskara Rao appreciated the fencers and wished the fencers all the best.
