Red Cross Society organises blood donation camp
Godavari districts’ MLC Ramu Surya Rao said that so far 4,000 units of blood have been collected from donors through the Indian Red Cross Society in the district. He inaugurated a blood donation camp held at KPDT High School in Ashok Nagar on National Voters Day on Thursday.
Eluru: Godavari districts’ MLC Ramu Surya Rao said that so far 4,000 units of blood have been collected from donors through the Indian Red Cross Society in the district. He inaugurated a blood donation camp held at KPDT High School in Ashok Nagar on National Voters Day on Thursday.
Addressing the camp, the MLC said that Red Cross Society had been conducting special camps to collect blood from donors and a special mobile vehicle has been provided for the purpose. He said that Indian Red Cross Society would construct a modern blood bank in Eluru. “Patients with Thalassemia are in need of blood, a building with a cost of Rs 50 lakh would also be constructed in Eluru to collect the blood specially meant for the Thalassemia patients.”
Eluru RDO G Chakradhara Rao, Mandal Tahsildar Chandrasekhar Rao, Red Cross coordinator Choppala Chittibabu, Red Cross blood bank technicians Saila Kumari and Jhansi participated in the programme.
