Ongole: The students from PACE Institute of Technology and Sciences paid a trip to the nearby railway station to learn about the technological concepts in the field, said the college management in a note on Thursday.

It said that the third year civil engineering students from the college visited the Surareddy Palem railway station. They interacted with railway staff to learn more about the railway track system, crossing technology in the railway engineering and construction of various sections in the civil engineering.

They also inspected the gusset plates, sections, fittings and gantry girders and learned about their importance in the smooth functioning of railways with the practical experience. The students said that participating in the field trip helped them gain practical experience apart from witnessing the theoretical knowledge being tested in the real world.
