Rajamahendravaram: Seeking Special Category Status (SCS) to the State of Andhra Pradesh, all the leaders and activists of Left parties staged a protest at the Fort Gate here on Friday. Speaking on this occasion, the leaders expressed their disappointment over the delay in according SCS to the state.

They expressed their anger over not sanctioning enough funds to the state in the recently presented Union Budget. They alleged that the BJP-led government had betrayed the people of AP. They also said that the Central government was functioning for the benefit of the corporate people ignoring the common man. They demanded that the Central government fulfil all the promises that were made during the bifurcation.

The Central government should implement all the things that were mentioned in the state re-organisation act. They expressed their disappointment over the meager allocation of funds in the latest budget and not mentioning about crucial things like Amaravathi Metro, Railway Zone to Vishakhapatnam, AIIMS and other establishments. The Left leaders, M Satyanarayana, T Arun, N Rama Rao and others participated in the protest.
