2 killed as a portion of quarry caves in on them

Two women were crushed to death when a portion of the slate quarry at Rayavaram, caved in on them, while another person managed to escape the accident without any injuries.
Ongole: Two women were crushed to death when a portion of the slate quarry at Rayavaram, caved in on them, while another person managed to escape the accident without any injuries.
The deceased were identified as Beemanaboyina Sitamma (29) and Chinna Mangamma (30). The mishap occurred while they were working in the quarry belonging to Yennu Polireddy in Rayavaram.
The mishap took place when Beemanaboyina Kasaiah, Sitamma and Mangamma were working in the quarry. Kasaiah managed to escape the accident, while the two women were crushed to death.
Markapuram DSP Ramanjaneyulu and Circle Inspector Bheema Naik reached the spot along with reinforcements and took steps to recover the bodies from the debris.
