Former SC Judge Chinnappa Reddy passes away

Hyderabad: A former Judge of the Supreme Court, Justice Ontethupalli Chinnappa Reddy (90), died in a private hospital in Jubilee Hills following a heart attack on Saturday evening. A widower, he leaves behind a son and two daughters. Reddy suffered the attack at around 5 p.m. He was declared dead in the hospital. Acting chief justice N.V. Ramana visited Reddy's house in Jubilee Hills Cooperative Housing Society and laid a wreath on the body. According to the family, the funeral will take place on Sunday. Chinnappa Reddy, who belonged to Gooty in Anantapur district, was appointed a judge of the Supreme Court on July 17, 1978. He retired on September 24, 1987. Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy expressed grief over the demise of the former judge of supreme court. In a message, the Chief Minister expressed his condolences and sympathy to the bereaved family. YSRCP honorary president Y S Vijayamma also condoled the death of Justice Chinnappa Reddy.
