Decision on closure of belt shops to be spelt out soon

Hyderabad: Minister for Excise and Secondary Education K Parthasarathy announced that the new excise policy of the government would commence from July 1.A Addressing mediapersons on Thursday, Parthasarathy said that the government would take a decision on belt shops in the new excise policy.

The government was cracking a whip on belt shops and raids were being conducted at various places, he informed. He said that the government did not have the exact number of belt shops in the State. A It had only directed the officials to take stringent action against the belt shops that were allowing people to consume liquor in open places.

The excise officials have been filing cases on violation of rules in selling liquor at counters, he observed.A Referring to the DSC notification, he said that the notification would be issued in the month of October. A The government would take a decision on conducting test at a time by merging it within a week, he observed.

On FEMA case against him, he said that the case was filed against him before he was out of politics and added that he would solve the issue in the court of law.
