Speaking to newsmen at Nirmal, the former Adilabad MP announced the decision to dissociate himself frrom the party for its anti-Telangana stand. He would decide the future course of action soon.

It is learnt that Reddy’s close aide and former MLA Koneru Konappa is planning to quit YSRCP. Reddy said he was agonized by the resignations of Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and YSRCP honorary president Y S Vijayamma.

He alleged that they were ‘bent upon stalling’ formation of Telangana. Reddy maintained that remaining in YSRCP would amount to lack of self-respect and that the party lacked internal democracy. Reddy, who earlier quit the Congress, had a big hand in strengthening the YSRCP cadre in the district, particularly his constituency of Nirmal.

In the recent gram panchayat elections he played a crucial role enabling the YSRCP bag 40 panchayats.
