The Congress high command is mulling setting up two PCCs, one for Telangana and the other for residuary Andhra Pradesh, as part of gearing up for the upcoming simultaneous Assembly and parliament elections in 2014. Kanna Lakshminarayana was in the reckoning for the post of APCC president. While for Telangana PCC president, Andhra Pradesh Civil Supplies Minister D Sridhar Babu is being considered by the Congress high command.
AICC general secretary in-charge of Andhra Pradesh Digvijay Singh is understood to have taken Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy into confidence on the thinking of the Congress high command. This became necessary, as both Kanna Lakshminarayan and D Sridhar Babu are both ministers in Kiran Kumar Reddy Cabinet.
