Minister for Minor Irrigation TG Venkatesh and Minister for Law Erasu Prathapa Reddy said on Thursday that any change of guard in Andhra Pradesh was not an easy affair in the present circumstances.
Addressing media persons on Thursday, TG Venkatesh said that there was no such move on cards and the high command itself had realised that the bifurcation had turned out to be a ticklish issue and in this backdrop, it would not venture to experiment with new leaders at the helm of the affairs.
“Unless and until Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy opted to resign voluntarily, the high command would not dare to go for any leadership change”, he said, adding that he thought the high command would not make another mistake now. Referring to the GoM gestures with regard to division of the State, he said that they planned ‘Chalo Delhi’ programme with 10 lakh people opposing the State bifurcation.
He said that they would stall the Central administration with the move. “All the activities pertaining to State division were going in Delhi and there was no meaning in staging dharnas in the State”, he added.
Single line resolution not enough to charge CM
Erasu Pratap Reddy said that single line resolution for change of leadership of Congress Legislature Party was not a viable option to the high command in the present context.
He said that changing of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy was not a simple issue and nobody was there to take the burden. “Many of the party legislators may oppose the move", he said. The people of Seemandhra were hurt and angry over the moves of GoM on State division, he added.
