Hyderabad: In a bid to thwart any attempt to delay the discussion on the draft T Bill in the state Assembly, the Ministers from Telangana, Chief Whip of the Assembly and MLCs, on Tuesday, called on Governor ESL Narsimhan and urged him to see that the Assembly was not prorogued.

Then ministers including Deputy Chief Minister C Damodara Rajanarsimha, Minister for Panchayat Raj K Jana Reddy, Minister for Major Industries J Geeta Reddy, Minister for Housing N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Minister for Information and Public Relations D K Aruna, Chief Whip G Venkataramana Reddy, former Minister Shabbir Ali and others urged the Governor to see that the Assembly was convened soon after the draft Bill was sent to the Assembly.

Later talking to the media, Jana Reddy said they told the Governor that if the Assembly was prorogued, there was every possibility that the government might not re-convene the it immediately leading to greater problems. There are apprehensions among the people of T region that the process might be delayed under pressure from Seemandhra leaders.

Deputy Chief Minister Rajanarasimha said that he also mentioned about the recent letter he had submitted to the Governor alleging that the chief minister’s request to prorogue the House could be a gameplan to delay the T process. Interestingly, Minister for Legislative Affairs D Sridhar Babu was not among those who met the Governor. It may be mentioned here that the file recommending prorogation of the Assembly is at present pending with him.
