Hyderabad: The report of likely poll alliance between the TDP and the BJP for the upcoming general elections has become a hot topic in political circles in the State.

PCC president Botcha Satyanarayana, in an informal chat with media on Sunday, said that Naidu’s double speak got once again exposed. He wondered how TDP could think of having alliance with BJP, which was in favour of separate T State. “Naidu should make his stand clear on the T issue first,” he said.

Botcha demanded that Naidu to make it clear whether he considers BJP as a communal party or a secular party. “In the past, he snapped ties with BJP saying that it was not a secular party,” he said.

The BJP national spokesperson Prakash Javadekar, however, chose to react cautiously on the issue of alliances. He said, “Naidu is former NDA partner and he was invited for swearing in ceremony on that ground and not for discussing the alliance,” he said.

Meanwhile, BJP state leaders G Kishan Reddy and Nagam Janardhan Reddy expressed their objection to any tie up with TDP. Kishan Reddy said BJP will not join hands with TDP and would go alone.

TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao felt that even if there was any alliance between the two parties, it would not cause any concern for the TRS, since TDP was decimated in Telangana region. “And we are not bothered about what happens in Seemandhra,” TRS leader said. Meanwhile, Naidu’s brother-in-law, N Harikrishna, reiterating his stand in favour of united Andhra Pradesh, urged the BJP to understand the concerns of the Seemandhra people before demanding division of the State.
