Hyderabad: PCC president Botcha Satyanarayana is likely to issue a show cause notice or letter of suspension to senior Congress leader J C Diwakar Reddy on Wednesday. He returned from New Delhi on Tuesday after meeting top brass of the party.
According party sources, the PCC disciplinary committee which has been asked to look into the ‘anti-party’ activities of Reddy has submitted that it is not competent to take action against Diwakar Reddy since he is an AICC member and that only Botcha could initiate any disciplinary action. It may be recalled that Reddy had not only opposed the CWC decision to bifurcate state but also made critical remarks against AICC president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi. He said that Sonia Gandhi should make way for younger leadership and Rahul was not fit to lead the party. When asked about the likely action against him on Tuesday, Reddy said he did not want to leave the Congress, but Botcha was asking him to quit.
