KU Students Decry Hike In Exam Fee. Police have forcibly arrested the students during which the students and the police have scuffled with each other.

Warangal: Tension prevailed at Kakatiya University Arts and Science College as scores of students affiliated to different student organizations taking to the streets opposing hike in examination fees.

The protesting students have staged a rasta-roko in front of the college at Subedari in Hanamkonda on Friday. They raised slogans against the university Vice-Chancellor Prof. B Venkat Rathnam and burnt his effigy. Following the demonstration by the students, the movement of vehicles on busy Warangal-Hyderabad road was obstructed.

As a result the police have forcibly arrested the students during which the students and the police have scuffled with each other.

Police shifted the students to local police station and later let them out . Speaking on the occasion several students have complained that the recent hike in the annual examination fee has been imposing a financial burden on the students coming from rural and poor background. Hence the university authorities should withdraw the fee hike, they demanded.
