Puttaparti: Twelve members of the Forensic team, headed by director of Andhra Pradesh Forensic Laboratory Sarada Avadhani on Monday found in the burnt coach B 1 of the Bangalore-Nanded Express vital objects relating to the identity of the victims. They collected the objects, including gold, cell phones and cash in 72 bags.

Guntakal Government Railway Police SP Janardhan told presspersons at the railway station here that the 72 bags would be sent to forensic lab in Hyderabad. He said facts of the case would be known in two days, after undertaking a review with officials on the accident.

Sarada Avadhani told the media that the search by the team members in the bogie during the last two days had revealed that there could be several causes for the mishap, which have to be ascertained in the lab with the help of the objects collected. The team would submit its report to the Railways, she stated.

The team members, who included deputy director of forensic lab Gopinath, along with officials of the Railway Safety, Janardhan, Fire officers Jayanna Balaraju and Malyadri, searched the entire coach. They collected some details suggesting that the fire accident took place after the train left the Puttaparti railway station.

They identified a woman who jumped into hills from a window of the coach in an attempt to escape the fire. They made inquiries at the spot and came to the conclusion that the fire accident took place near the hills. However, how it occurred still remains a mystery.

Based on the information gathered, the team members tentatively estimate that the bogie caught fire in Puttaparti railway station itself. Doubts persists whether the mishap was caused by short-circuit, or either liquor or an explosive substance.

A person might have thrown a lit cigarette into the liquor stock leading to the fire. The explosive substance could be a chemical which catches fire fast.
