Vallabhaneni Vamsi faces death threat from IG Sitaramanjaneyulu

Stating that a conspiracy was being hatched to kill him, TDP leader Vallabhaneni Vamsi on Tuesday met director general of police (DGP) Prasada Rao to seek police protection.

He complained to the DGP that he is a facing life threat from Greyhounds IG Sitaramanjaneyulu saying the IG was out to take revenge on him. The TDP leader also alleged that the IG was planning to assassinate him with the support of ex-naxals.

He appealed to the DGP for security cover to save his life. He also complained to Vijayawada commissioner of police and also sought an appointment with Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy.

According to reports, a popular Telugu cinema director asked Vamsi to be cautious as Sitaramanjaneyulu was planning to kill him.

Interestingly. Vamsi had produced a movie for this director. The director learnt about Vamsi's life threat when he attended a film event recently.

Recting to Vami's allegations, Sitaramanjaneyulu said that he didn't want to comment as he was not aware of any complaint being filed against him.

It's worth mentioning here that there was a fallout between Vamsi and Sitaramanjaneyulu which could have triggered hatred.

It may be recalled here that Vamsi had filed a petition in the High Court seeking a CBI inquiry into the alleged support extended by Sitaramanjaneyulu who worked as a Vijayawada police commissioner in the murder case of Maddelacheruvu Suri.
