Hyderabad: With Rajya Sabha elections ending on Friday, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is now sharpening its arsenal against Congress and YSRC parties in the general elections. Giving an indication of this at a press conference here on Friday, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu lashed out at AICC president Sonia Gandhi for the present state of affairs in the State. He said the Congress party had destroyed the State in all respects in its 10-year rule and divided the Telugu people for narrow political gains. Referring to the Rajya Sabha elections, Naidu said the polls have once again exposed the secret understanding between the TRS and YSRCP over the issue of State bifurcation. While the Congress party left one seat to TRS, the YSRCP under instructions of Sonia Gandhi issued a whip to its members not to participate in the polls, Naidu said.

Terming Kiran has become the ‘stooge’ of the Congress high command, Naidu asked Reddy as to why he persuaded the Congress rebel candidates KVV Satyanarayana Raju alias Chaitanya Raju and Adala Prabhakar Reddy to withdraw their nominations. This was also part of the drama scripted by the high command to ensure the TRS candidate win the election, he pointed out. Naidu also took strong exception to the Centre’s move to introduce such an important Telangana Bill in the last session of the Parliament which is meant to pass vote-on-account budget. It is bulldozing its way without addressing concerns of Seemandhra people, he said. Referring to his recent meetings with leaders of various parties on the Telangana issue, Naidu said that he succeeded in exposing the ‘opportunistic’ politics of the Congress on the issue of the State division.
