Union minister of state for finance JD Seelam on Friday faced the ire of Samaikyandhra supporters in Krishna district.

The protestors mobbed the minister demanding his resignation. The agitators stopped his convoy at Hanuman junction and raised slogans in support of united Andhra Pradesh.

When the police stopped protesters, they hurled broomsticks on JD Seelam's convoy.

After facing the Samaikyandhra heat, Seelam said that he also felt bad for introducing the Telangana Bill in the Parliament. However, he will continue in the Congress party as a 'Congresswadi'.

He sought some amendments in the Bill.

Meanwhile, the bandh called to protest against the attack on Seemandhra MPs continued in Vijayawada.

Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers (APNGOs) and other united-AP supporters have given a bandh call, while Jaganmohan Reddy-led YSR Congress has called for a one-day shutdown in the non-Telangana regions. Both protests began on Friday morning. APNGOs staged demonstrations at the RTC bus station in the city.

YSRCP activists burnt vehicle tires near a rice mill in the city to protest Telangana Bill being introduced in the Parliament. They also warned that the Centre should bear the responsibility for any untoward incidents that takes place in the event of the Bill being passed.
