The manner in which the Telangana Bill was passed in the Lok Sabha reminded me of the times of Emergency, said former Union Minister and Telugu hero of yesteryears U V Krishnam Raju.
"Shutting the doors of the House, stopping the live telecast of the proceedings and passing the Telangana Bill without giving a chance for debate reminds me of Emergency. What was the need for getting the Bill passed in the Lok Sabha as thieves?" asked Krishnam Raju when asked to express his views on T bill by a a news channel on Thursday.
Replying to a question on why BJP supported the Bill, the actor- turned-politician replied that situation at that time forced them like that. "The 120-year-old experience of Congress party is being used for votes and not for the good of public. We will fight for the rights of Seemandhra people. If something goes wrong, Narendra Modi will solve the issue," he said.
When asked if he was planning to bring any pressure on his party, he said that BJP will not support the Bill till it is amended.
He made it clear that till their demands in support of Seemandhra are not met , they will not allow the passage of the Bill in Rajya Sabha.
Krishnam Raju, who had been a Minister in the NDA Government recently joined BJP in the presence of party president Rajnath Singh.
