Hyderabad: A three-member IAS officers cell to monitor Andhra Pradesh reorganisation was constituted by Chief Secretary P K Mohanty.

Secretary in finance department K Ramakrishna Rao, A P Housing Corporation managing director Burra Venkatesam and A P Industrial Infrastructure Corporation vice-chairman & managing director Jayesh Ranjan will be the members of the cell.

Mohanty told the media that one member each from Telangana and residuary Andhra Pradesh and another IAS officer from outside were selected for the Cell. He said that the Cell would study the reports submitted by 15 sub-committees including eight-member apex committee and would be send it to the Governor.

“The two advisors of Governor will scrutinise the reports and place them before the Governor for his approval,” he said. The Chief Secretary would be the chairman of the apex committee, while S P Tucker, principal secretary of planning department, was appointed as convenor.

Stating that the division process would begin in all departments, he said that the 15 subject committees would prepare reports on these departments.

“The 15 committees will deal with subjects including files digitalisation, distribution of employees and their details, police, grey-hounds, contracts and companies, training and institutions, special development, irrigation, power, new capital, higher education and medical and health, services wing, court cases and legal affairs, restructuring and reform of departments and resource mobilisation (finance),” he explained.

The committee on restructuring and reforms of the departments would study the scope for merger or winding up of certain departments.
