‘Modi only hope for country’

Kakinada: “Narendra Modi is the only hope for the country, which plunged into despair due to policy paralysis of the Congress-led UPA government. Modi has the capabilities to defy China and Pakistan, which are posing security threats to India,” BJP senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu said here on Monday. Addressing a large gathering during the ‘Modi for PM’ campaign here in East Godavari district on Monday, he expressed the hope that the BJP would come to power in the general elections by crossing the magic figure of 272. He called upon the people in the southern States to be part of BJP’s success so that they could demand the development of the region. Reminding the gathering that East Godavari had sent two BJP MPs to Parliament to make Atal Behari Vajapayee the Prime Minister earlier, he urged the people of the district to give BJP all the three Parliamentary seats to make Narendra Modi the Prime Minister.

On the bifurcation of the State, Mr Naidu said ‘Telangana’ was in the agenda of BJP, but the party cadres had to resort to protests as gross injustice was done to Seemandhra in the process of bifurcation. He further said the Congress had ignored Andhra MPs who were instrumental in bringing it to power. The BJP leader stressed the need to give impetus to the development of Seemandhra after bifurcation. He assured that the special status announced for Seemandhra for five years would be increased to 10 years if the BJP came to power.
