Ganta’s son booked for nuisance

Hyderabad: In two separate incidents, MP Anjan Kumar Yadav’s son and MLA Ganta Srinivas Rao’s son were booked by the city police on Sunday.

According to Hussaini Alam police, a criminal case was booked against Arvind Kumar Yadav, son of Secunderabad MP Anjan Kumar Yadav, and others for allegedly attacking an on-duty constable on Sunday night.

The MP’s son, along with his friends, sought to celebrate Holi by lighting a bonfire on the road near Golla Khidki in Doodhbowli. On being questioned and persuaded by constable Vamshi (PC 6310) to clear the bonfire, a heated argument ensued after which the constable was beaten up by Arvind and his friends.

Vamshi was rushed to hospital for treatment. Later, he lodged a complaint with Hussaini Alam police who booked Arvind under sections 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter a public servant from discharging his duty) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC. It is learnt that Anjan Kumar is trying to use his influence to get his son out of the mess. According to police, Arvind is absconding and a manhunt has been launched to find him.

Booked for nuisance

Meanwhile, Shamshabad police on Sunday took Raviteja, son of former minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao, into custody for creating nuisance at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. According to police, he was drunk and attacked Travellers' Bar personnel and also driver of the ‘Pushpak’ bus.

Raviteja, along with his friend, Indrajith, in an inebriated condition, abused Pushpak bus depot controller and created nuisance at the airport.

According to the controller, Raviteja and two of his friends were consuming alcohol in front of the counter, and when they were asked to move on, the trio abused the controller and went on to push him and the bar staff.

They might have come to the airport thinking that they would be served alcohol, as wine shops in the city were closed due to Holi, said the police.

Police booked cases against Raviteja and Indrajith under Section 268 (public nuisance) of the IPC and produced them before the magistrate on Monday morning, who remanded them to 14 days of judicial custody. They were later sent to Cherlapalli jail.
