Andhra Pradesh is the state where politics and films go hand in hand. The politicians have been practicing the encashment of filmy glamour in the elections either directly or indirectly. If some were given tickets to contest in the polls, few other were utilised for the campaigning alone in the previous instances. But, now it seems the politics have changed in accordance with the situational demand. Ever since Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, the late Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh got a splendid victory, many prominent actors of Tollywood joined the politics. They were even encouraged by the political parties. Nevertheless, this time appears to be an exception.

Kota Srinivasa Rao and Rebel Star Krishnam Raju were earlier given BJP ticket to contest in the polls. However, this time they were not allowed by their parent party to contest in the polls and were not allocated with the tickets. Other actors who were denied tickets to contest the polls by various parties include Nandamuri Harikrishna, Kavitha, Ali, Disco Shanthi, Jagapathi Babu, Raja etc. All these have expected tickets to contest the polls.

Form the other end, Nandmuri Balakrishna will be checking his fortune from Hindupur assembly constituency in his debut polls. Chiranjeevi has taken up the entire responsibility of campaigning for the Congress Party in Seemandhra region. Pawan Kalyan has been canvassing for TDP and BJP alliance.

These two cases are the exacting contradictories of the same issue. Whatsoever the case may be – but - palpably the filmy glamour has diminished effect in the looming polls as far as Telangana and Seemandhra are concerned. The most probable reason for the same is the realisation by the people of the difference between real and reel world politics.
