The Election Commission has ordered re-polling in 30 polling stations in Andhra Pradesh on May 13, said Andhra Pradesh's chief electoral officer (CEO) Bhanwarlal.
The polling panel ordered re-polling in 11 polling stations in Telangana and the remaining in Seemandhra following complaints of rigging and other malpractices during the polling held on April 30 and May 7.
The polling stations are located in 13 Lok Sabha and 21 assembly constituencies.
Bhanwarlal in a press meet on Saturday evening also recommended re-polling in one polling station in Paderu assembly constituency, where Maoists damaged two electronic voting machines (EVMs) during the polling May 7.
It is learnt that the Election Commission ordered re-polling in several booths, following reports received from the district collectors in view of the complaints by political parties and contesting candidates who alleged that there was cases where many polling stations prone to rigging.
Many political parties also wrote to the EC and the collector stating that a minimum of 200 polling stations were prone to mall practices and at such stations reporting has to be conducted. But the election commission considered few polling stations and decided to conduct rebellion in 30 constituencies of Andhra Pradesh including Telangana. However the political parties are disappointed with this decision says few political sources.
It may be recalled that the last polling date is issued on 12 May and hence repolling has decided to conduct on 13 May.
It is also leant that the Andhra Pradesh Election comision is making all the necessary requirements for the repolling which is going to commence on 13 of May.
