Hyderabad: State Logo Designing Left to New GovernmentsHyderabad: Some 22 committees working on division process as part of AP State Reorganization Act-2014 have left the designing of logo of the respective governments to the successor governments. R Kavita Prasad, director cultural affairs said, “Designing of logo was left to the elected governments and the new chief ministers should have to take a decision on them”. He said that logo is symbolic of state of affairs of the particular State and the spirit, life, conditions, distinct features of the State would be reflected in it.

The present logo of Andhra Pradesh government has a lion symbol with a kalasam in the centre. The elected government of residuary Andhra Pradesh will decide on whether to opt for retaining the present logo or to have a new logo. However, the logos of the two States have to ready by June 1 as they have to be printed on the letter heads. An official on condition of anonymity said that logo framing should be completed by June 1 because the official letter head of the State government – Telangana or Andhra Pradesh – has to be in place by that time. He opined that as the new chief ministers of two States would be known after May 16, they should give suggestions on logos before the swearing-in ceremony to be taken on June 1.

Likewise, the Telangana government should go for new logo immediately after the government formation. The design of the new logo would be entrusted to the persons who had thorough knowledge on culture, language, history and other conditions of Telangana. It is learnt that there are hundreds of poets and writers and the new government may take suggestions from the prominent poets of the region.
