TG Transco, TG Genco created

Hyderabad: State government on Thursday issued orders creating TG Transco and TG Genco in accordance with the provisions of AP Reorganisation Act 2014. The existing AP Transco and Genco would continue for the residuary State of Andhra Pradesh.

As per the orders, the TG Transco and Genco would come into effect from the Appointed Day, June 2. All the functions presently being carried out by AP Transco in the area of Telangana State would be transferred to TG Transco and Genco.

Except AP Transco head office, all the assets like sub stations, transmission lines, corporate training institute in Hyderabad, stores, offices and land located exclusively in the jurisdiction of Telangana State would be transferred to TG Transco on ‘as is where is basis.’

The posts related to district, field and zonal offices including Central Training Institute located in T State would come under the purview of TG Transco and the posts at AP Transco would be divided between two Transcos based on population ratio of the respective State. The same procedure would be applicable to the division of employees between AP Genco and TG Genco. All the thermal, hydel and solar power plants located in Telangana region would be handed over to TG Genco on as is where is basis.
