Hyderabad: A warrior turned administrator, the TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao who donned the new role as the chief minister of newly formed Telangana State spent a busy day on Monday. He first visited the Telangana martyrs memorial at Gun Park near the State Assembly.

After taking oath as the Chief Minister of the T-State, which became the 29th State of the country in the wee hours of Monday, the TRS chief had a brief chat with Governor ESL Narasimhan while having breakfast with him along with his Council of Ministers.

Later, he went straight to Parade Grounds in Secunderabad where a colourful parade by various police battalions took place to mark the Telangana State Formation Day celebrations. After receiving the guard of honour at the parade, KCR delivered his maiden speech as Chief Minster.

KCR, who is known for making impromptu speeches, had to read out a prepared speech at the historic function. Later, he made his first visit to State Secretariat with his Ministers.

When the new Chief Minister entered the secretariat for the first time the Telangana employees accorded a warm welcome to him amid Telangana folk dance and songs. Employees gave a red carpet treatment to the Chief Minister.

Expressing their happiness, the new Ministers said that till recently, their entry into Secretariat was banned but today they were the administrators, who would be working for the development of the new state.

KCR also called on High Court Chief Justice Justice Kalyan Jyothi Sengupta at latter's residence and held confabulations with him. Later, he got busy till late in the night by allocating departments to higher officials in the new government apart from reviewing the ongoing government programmes in Telangana.
