Red sanders smuggler detained under PD Act

Kurnool: An alleged red sanders smuggler Mastan of Muthyalapadu village in Chagalamarri mandal was on Saturday detained in the Rajahmundry Central Jail under the PD Act.

Police and Forest department officials acted quickly in view of the possibility of Mastan being released on bail. This is the first case of PD Act detention in the illegal transportation of red sanders.

Mastan had a rags-to-riches rise, suddenly becoming a film producer from being a commoner. His wife was recently elected the sarpanch of Muthyalapadu. He himself was elected MPTC of YSRCP after contesting from jail itself. He was a remand prisoner for several months in the Allagadda Sub-jail.
