Erstwhile United AP Takes Third Place For Road Accidents: NCRB. Erstwhile United Andhra Pradesh has grabbed second place in prostitution and third place in suicide cases, according to NCRB statistics.

Hyderabad: Erstwhile United Andhra Pradesh has grabbed second place in prostitution and third place in suicide cases, according to NCRB statistics. Maintaining the same tempo, the statistics of the accidental deaths recorded have also kept erstwhile Andhra Pradesh at third position.

If it was the state’s large area that was to be considered for more number of accidental deaths, Maharashtra which is much bigger than erstwhile AP with additional 70L vehicles more has reported less number of deaths, though it leads ahead erstwhile AP in number of road accidents. Uttar Pradesh has the worst record with 25,975 road crashes and 15,630 deaths. There were 43,048 road accidents that happened in the year 2013 in erstwhile united AP. Even in this case, the neighbouring Tamil Nadu has grabbed the first position (Remember in prostitution cases also Tamil Nadu topped while erstwhile united AP took the second place) with 66,238 road accidents while Maharashtra witnessed 43,863 road accidents in the year 2013 to take second position.

The statistics reveal the fact that road accident deaths in 2013 in AP were less compared with 14,966 in 2012. The rate of accidents calculated per every 1,000 vehicles and rate of deaths per every 100 road accidents too was less in 2013 with 1.2 and 34 compared to 1.5 and 38 reported in 2012.

In view of the above, Road journey in the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh was dangerous according to the 2013 report released by the National Crime Records Bureau.
