Hyderabad: The Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao should desist from playing controversial politics and focus on the development of his State, said Minister for Human Resource Development Ganta Srinivasa Rao here on Monday.

Addressing a press conference, he said ever since KCR assumed power, he had been provoking controversy on one or other issue in violation of the Reorganisation Bill. He meddled with transport sector taxes and raised objections to confer powers of law and order in the Hyderabad city on the Governor, besides tying to creating hurdles to the Polavaram project and setting a deadline of 1956 on the nativity issue.

The most serious issue was EAMCET admissions which could ruin the future of thousands of students in both the states. The AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu came forward and offered fee reimbursement on 52:48 ratio. But KCR remained adamant, he said.

The Supreme Court had not only cleared the decks for admission but also made remarks against the Telangana government. The Minister recalled the apex court’s comments like “don't politicise the students' issue. ''

He said the Telangana government had completely ignored the provisions laid out in the reorganisation bill which was against the Constitution. Common EAMCET admissions for a period of 10 years were one of the specific provisions in the Reorganisation Act.
