The allotment of rooms for the parties and Ministers had become a bone of contention since the first session of the two State Assemblies held in July. The Deputy Speakers of Telangana and Andhra were allotted same room leading a new controversy. In view of this, Telangana State Assembly and AP State Assembly Speakers S Madhusudhana Chary and Kodela Siva Prasad held a meeting in the Assembly chambers and discussed all the issues, including the arrangements being made for the conduct of budget sessions to be held from August third week. AP and Telangana State Legislative Affairs Ministers Y Ramakrishnudu and T Harish Rao respectively also attended the meeting on behalf of their governments.

Speaking to newsmen after the meeting, Siva Prasad said the allotment of chambers for the Ministers and the parties would be finalised in the next meeting to be held before the beginning of the Assembly session. His counterpart also agreed to resolve all the issues without giving any scope to further differences between the two states.

The meeting also discussed the possible difficulties cropping up in case the two Assembly sessions are held simultaneously, he said. All precautions including ensuing security arrangements and logistical support for the smooth conduct of the sessions would be taken by the two governments.

Telangana State Assembly Speaker said the AP counterpart had agreed to extend all support to TS government during the Assembly session. He said, however, a decision on the finalisation of chambers would be taken only after seeking the opinion all political parties representing in the two Assemblies.
