A delegation from global consultancy McKinsey gave a presentation titled “Vision for AP Capital”, during the meeting.

A delegation from global consultancy McKinsey gave a presentation titled “Vision for AP Capital”, during the meeting.

Naidu asked the committee members to lookout for an ad-hoc capital that will house key administrative offices until all the infrastructure and other projects are completed in the capital city. The temporary capital should have all the infrastructure amenities. If the tale is to be believed Vijayawada, the commercial capital of Andhra Pradesh before the bifurcation, is likely to transpire as the provisional capital. Assessment of the buildings available in Vijayawada is going on and also some of the government offices have started relocating.

Naidu probed the committee members to chalk out a master plan for the new capital and strike a balance between development infrastructure and social facilities such as schools and hospitals. Naidu has already taken cues from Brasilia, Singapore, Putrajaya in construction of the capital city.
