Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with top IT companies like Tech Mahindra, Wipro and Society for Applied Microwave Electronics Engineering and Research (SAMEER) for inauguration of Trip, Tech, Research and Incubation centres in Visakhapatnam on September 29.

Talking to The Hans India on Wednesday, the Minister said in another event, CEOs of 400 IT companies, both Indian and foreign, would meet at a conclave in Visakhapatnam. About 80 CEOs have confirmed their participation. These CEOs would discuss internet, computers and e-governance facilities to be set up in the port city. “We set the ball rolling for implementation of our IT and Electronics policy and most of the new units will be commissioned in another three years,” he said and added the government hoped to create 5 lakh jobs by 2020 and make Visakhapatnam one of the biggest IT and Electronics hubs in Asia.


The Minister said the government has aimed at introducing IT in every aspect of life to bring in transparency and speed up the development process.

He recalled that the government has developed a blueprint “Re-Imagining Andhra Pradesh – role of e-Governance, Electronics and IT” for development of Information and communications technology (ICT) Industry in the State.

It envisages a large number of conducive policies and simple but effective frameworks being put in place.

It has laid out a vision to “develop AP as an innovation society of global repute, with a focus on enhancing the quality of life of its citizens, through high-quality education and healthcare, increased productivity in agriculture and allied activities”.
