Visakhapatnam: The resignation of YSRCP strong man Konathala Ramakrishna from the party may lead to more people leaving the party, including some legislators.

As of now, two MLAs – Budi Muthyala Naidu from Madugula and Kidari Sarveswara Rao of Araku Valley – have reportedly decided to follow in the footsteps of their leader Ramakrishna. With the duo leaving the party, Paderu legislator Giddi Eswari would also be worried as she had worked for the party with both. Though she was not exactly a follower of Ramakrishna, she is afraid she would be left alone and therefore she may also resign, it is learnt.

Meanwhile, some of the local leaders are launching a damage control exercise and trying to hold the cadres together.

Visakhapatnam city president Gudivada Amarnath, a staunch follower of Ramakrishna, has chosen to remain in the party, particularly due to his rivalry with former MLA from Paravada Gandi Babjee who has been with Ramakrishna for a decade. Babjee did not like Amarnath's appointment as the party president here.
