Bank staff demand pay revision
The one-day strike of bank employees demanding pay revision and to solve their problems, in Nellore on Tuesday was successful.
Nellore: The one-day strike of bank employees demanding pay revision and to solve their problems, in Nellore on Tuesday was successful. The employees of all banks staged dharna at State Bank of India near Barkas centre here and also held rasta roko. The transactions in the entire district came to a standstill with their strike.

Addressing the gathering, United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) district convener NVN Prasad criticised the Indian Bank Associations (IBA) and Central government for not revising the pay scales of bank employees since two years. It is lamentable that the pay revision is not being done despite the banks earning huge profits.
Prasad demanded pay revision immediately as per the increased prices of all commodities in the country. Otherwise, all the bank employees in the entire country will unite and launch agitations phase-wise and also indefinite strike, he warned.
All India Bank Officers’ Confederation (AIBOC) leaders C Ramgopal, KS Prasad, SCBE leaders Tirupati Naidu, Bhaskar Reddy, Uday Kumar and others participated in the dharna.
