Dr Narayana has appealed to the farmers to participate in the three-day exhibition and seminars and return enriched with knowledge of latest agricultural trends and practices.

Guntur: Regional Agriculture Research Station(RARS), Lam Farm, in association with Andhra Pradesh Technology Development and Promotion Centre (APTDC) is organising a State-level agricultural fair ‘AP TEC–2014’ at the Lam Farm from December 6 to 8 with the objective of promoting modern technologies for agriculture, according to Dr Edala Narayana, Associate Director (Research) RARS.

Addressing a press conference at his chambers in RARS on Thursday, Dr Narayana said that the agriculture fair would have 100 stalls set up by farmers, technocrats and multinational agriculture companies and research stations from different parts of the country. Seminars would also form part of the event and the same would be addressed by experts during the three days. The 100 odd stalls would focus on modern agriculture technology, agriculture inputs, tools and modern machines including power tillers, seed planters, crop harvesters and farm implements that would help do away with the drudgery of manual farming operations. Besides technology innovations in agriculture including solar technology, nano and bio-technology would also be exhibited. Solar technology would find a special place with regard to adoption of solar power for agriculture pump sets,farm lighting and even for solar-powered vehicles. The exhibition would have stalls that focus on latest research findings on crops yields, high breed varieties of agriculture and horticulture vegetables, rice, food grains and fruits. The farmers would also have an opportunity to interact with scientists, MNC experts and model and successful farmers.

Dr Narayana has appealed to the farmers to participate in the three-day exhibition and seminars and return enriched with knowledge of latest agricultural trends and practices. He said that food arrangements would be made for farmers. He, however, said that there would be no scope for lodging on the campus.
